Produce Ultra-pure Acids for Daily Laboratory Work
The use of ultra-pure acids is elementary and indispensable in ultra-trace analysis. With ODLAB's APS-2000 acid purification system, you can easily produce your own ultra-pure acids in ppt quality (< 10ppt) from inexpensive acids of lower purity. This saves costs and reduces the risk of contamination, as multiple withdrawals from large storage bottles are no longer necessary.
The APS-2000 is suitable for cleaning common acids such as HNO3, HCl, HF, as well as H2O. The unit is metal-free and all parts in contact with the media are made of high purity perfluoroalkoxy polymer (PFA).
Cleaning by Subboiling
The system works with a temperature-controlled heating plate and cleans according to the subboiling principle, i.e. the acid to be cleaned is gently heated below the boiling point. This produces ultra-pure acid vapour which condenses on the extra large vessel surface of the evaporation vessel. The resulting distillate is the high-purity acid. The impurities remain in the evaporation container ("sump") which can be drained through a tubing with stopcock.
