Enhancing Productivity in ICP Analysis
Avoiding Blockages and Wear in Sample Solutions Containing Particles
Particles in sample solutions can cause downtime in ICP instruments, reducing laboratory productivity and increasing costs. They often block sample delivery lines and the nebulizers themselves, or cause valves to wear out more quickly. However, you can avoid these problems:
Guardian™ autosampler probes from Glass Expansion have a filter function thanks to their perforated ceramic tip, which prevents particles from being aspirated. Compared to conventional autosampler needles, the tip is also much less susceptible to damage. The stable autosampler probes are made entirely from the inert materials PEEK, PTFE and ceramic. A special surface treatment reduces dripping, which significantly reduces the risk of cross-contamination of samples.
Guardian™ in-line particle filters are another way to avoid problems with particles. They are inserted directly into the sample line and are optimised to filter the sample solution effectively while keeping flow resistance low.
Even if the nebulizer does become clogged, the ELUO nebulizer cleaning tool helps to clean it effectively and safely. With the appropriate adapter, it is also possible to backwash the Guardian™ in-line particle filter.
